DAAC digital, a company that started in 1995 as a modest computer maintenance department, quickly grew into a key provider of digital solutions on both the national and international markets. The company’s journey is a prime example of constant adaptation and steady growth.

In addition to Chișinău, where it is also a resident of the Moldova IT Park, the company operates branches in Tashkent and Bucharest. Its project portfolio spans finance, telecommunications, healthcare, industrial production, public administration, as well as collaborations with international organizations.

THE STRATEGY OF A LEADER

According to the company’s CEO, Serge Ghincu, DAAC digital today stands out by balancing two directions that may seem divergent but actually complement each other. On the one hand, the company invests in innovative solutions where the risk is justified by the potential for breakthrough and the need for technological advancement, often as a market first. This includes business applications, communication tools, and new methods. On the other hand, the focus is on areas where risk must be reduced to zero, such as engineering solutions and platforms for data centers, networks, information security, and the fintech sector. For Moldova, this approach means growth in the IT market as well as an increase in the number of qualified professionals.

A PROFESSIONAL TEAM WITH A SHARED MISSION

Over its 30 years of activity, DAAC digital has become a professional hub for hundreds of highly skilled specialists — engineers, developers, analysts, project managers, and strategists. A significant number of them have been with the company for over ten years, some even more than twenty.

Chief Technology Officer Andrei Prokopishin notes that employees hold more than 700 international certifications, proving both individual and team expertise. These include ISO 9001 for IT quality management, ISO 27001 for information security, ITIL/ITSM for IT service delivery, PMBOK for project management, as well as technology certifications from top global vendors and IT expert associations.

DAAC digital is also a partner at annual conferences such as AI & Big Data and FinTech, and organizes its own events like SecureVision and CyberBrunch. For decades, the company has been a key partner of world-renowned producers including Dell, Cisco, Oracle, and Check Point. Community involvement is also part of its identity, with one example being support for the Chișinău Botanical Garden.

PARTNERS IN THE FINTECH REVOLUTION

According to Serge Ciumac, Director of Engineering Services, the company revolutionized the local ATM market when DAAC System Integrator installed the first eight units in 2002. By 2005, the network had grown to more than 130 single-function ATMs dedicated exclusively to cash withdrawals (CashOut). This period marked the beginning of retail banking digitalization and a significant increase in public access to quick payments and cash withdrawals.

In 2010, the first CashIn ATMs were introduced, allowing deposits as well. Today, Moldova has around 1,250 ATMs, a quarter of them being CRS (Cash Recycling System) units. The first CRS, installed in 2015, is able to reuse deposited cash for withdrawals, optimizing banking operations and lowering operating costs for banks.

DAAC System Integrator is the representative of Diebold Nixdorf, which dominates the ATM market with an 82% share. The company’s Fintech Services Department maintains 84% of Moldova’s national ATM network. Its strategic priorities in this field include ensuring network availability above 96% (uptime), which guarantees both security and customer satisfaction.

Other priorities include constant updates of currency files for fast and accurate banknote recognition, bringing global trends to the local market by introducing the latest CashOut and Cash Recycling technologies, and continuous development of its technical team by training engineers in support and maintenance. The company also integrates modern functionalities such as advanced authentication, fraud prevention, and real-time monitoring.

The impact of these innovations on the market and customers is substantial. Automation and modernization of ATMs have reduced processing times and banks’ operational costs, while the expansion of ATM types has boosted transaction volumes and improved cash management.

FROM PREVENTION TO CYBER RESILIENCE

Globally, a cyberattack occurs every 14 seconds, and under these conditions the only workable approach is to integrate security organically into business processes. It must become an integral part of corporate culture, as natural as financial planning or quality control, and be factored in from the very launch of any project.

According to CyberSec Director Alexey Shulencov, many managers still associate cybersecurity with two stereotypes: the expert who blocks any innovation, or the “IT firefighters” who heroically rush in only during crises. This outdated view reduces cybersecurity either to a business obstacle or an emergency service. The reality, however, is very different.

Modern protection is no longer about bans or firefighting. It is about a complex system split into two key directions. Reactive security deals with the aftermath of incidents — breach analysis, data recovery, damage repair. It is necessary but costly, since the damage has already been done. Proactive security, by contrast, is an architecture of resilience focused on prevention. It is the equivalent of routine car maintenance rather than rebuilding an engine after a crash. Added to this is compliance with legislation and industry standards. The result is a complex equation involving vast amounts of data, hundreds of employees, thousands of devices, and dozens of security programs, each generating its own alert stream.

DAAC digital’s mission is to help clients address problems before they occur, shifting the focus from “putting out fires” to preventing them. The company’s approach is grounded in a simple economic principle: a professionally configured and maintained protection system requires far fewer long-term costs. Investments in proactive measures — such as regular audits, staff training, and intelligent monitoring systems — reduce risks, prevent downtime, and safeguard reputation. At the same time, DAAC digital provides not just software products, but also the expertise of its specialists, who select and configure the best solutions to maximize value and improve the efficiency of the entire IT system.

FLEXIBILITY AND INTEGRATED SUPPORT

Another important direction for DAAC digital is IT outsourcing and outstaffing. According to Andrei Prokopishin, this team ensures the uninterrupted operation of IT infrastructure for many Moldovan companies. The company provides day-to-day IT support for users, specialized assistance from niche experts, and embedded teams within client organizations. It also offers full-service outsourcing of IT departments — taking responsibility for the entire spectrum from strategy to support. Its wide and diverse portfolio of active contracts proves that DAAC digital’s methods, values, and dedication to delivering maximum benefit fully match clients’ expectations.

STRATEGIC PARTNER IN 1C

Efficient management of resources and operations is almost always a critical factor in competitiveness. DAAC Software Systems has established itself as a key player in implementing, supporting, and developing solutions based on the “1C:Enterprise” platform. Its main activity in the 1C segment is providing comprehensive solutions to business problems using advanced IT tools. The company focuses on several strategic aspects. First, it goes beyond simple software installation. Its specialists conduct deep analysis of clients’ business processes, identify weak points, and design optimal automation schemes. These rely on both standard and industry-specific 1C solutions — ERP, Trade Management, Payroll and HR Management, Retail, Document Management. This ensures precise alignment with unique business needs and delivers tangible benefits from day one. Second, the company emphasizes ongoing technical support and timely updates. DAAC provides subscription services (1C:ITS), including quick problem resolution, configuration and legislation updates, failure prevention, and user consulting.

Ivan Sîrbu, Director of DAAC Software Systems, also notes that no standard configuration can cover every nuance of a specific business. DAAC has a strong team of developers capable of adapting standard 1C solutions to unique client requirements. This includes creating new reports, automating specialized processes, integrating the system with other software (websites, CRM, equipment), or building fully customized functionality.

The company also offers Cloud solutions, helping clients migrate to virtual platforms. This reduces costs on hardware and IT staff, ensures data access from any location, and improves system resilience. With its accumulated experience, DAAC can effectively address challenges in sectors such as retail and wholesale trade, manufacturing, logistics, services, and construction.

Investing in 1C-based automation with an experienced partner like DAAC Software Systems reduces operating costs, cuts down manual labor, errors, and processing time, improves control, ensures accurate and timely accounting, strengthens financial oversight, and increases process transparency. It also minimizes the risk of fines for non-compliance and, ultimately, raises profitability and competitiveness.

INTEGRATING SYSTEMS, KEEPING PROMISES

At the heart of DAAC digital’s approach to systems integration is a simple principle: keeping promises. According to Sales Director Alexandru Savinov, a project is not only about implementation but also about ensuring long-term stable performance. The company takes responsibility for the entire cycle, from design and procurement to implementation and support, in Moldova, Uzbekistan, and Romania.

DAAC digital acts as a trusted advisor for its clients in projects that involve multiple products and technologies. Its offering is tailored to clients’ needs and budgets, delivery and implementation are completed as promised, and long-term support and maintenance are well-structured. For vendor partners, the company ensures fair representation in its markets, honors agreements, and constantly invests in certifications and know-how. As mentioned earlier, DAAC digital holds the highest levels of partnership with global leaders such as Dell, Cisco, Oracle, Vertiv, Milestone, and EarlyOne.

Collaboration is carried out exclusively with value-added distributors. This model guarantees on-time deliveries, transparency, and — when needed — direct access to their specialists to speed up projects or expand support, reducing risks and facilitating implementation.

DAAC SYSTEM IN UZBEKISTAN

The IT market in Central Asia is booming, especially in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, making the region a fertile ground for business and innovation. Both major international players and local companies are present here. Digital transformation is moving at a very fast pace. According to Sukhrob Rafikov, Director of DAAC System SRL Uzbekistan, authorities have set ambitious national goals. The target is to grow IT services exports to $5 billion annually by 2030. To support this, favorable conditions are being created for attracting foreign companies and training qualified personnel. Government programs are being launched, and various incentives are offered to IT firms.

Given the attractiveness of the local IT market, DAAC System was established in 2020. It provides services in software development, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and data centers. Oleg Rotaru, Director of DAAC digital’s Uzbekistan office, says that the company also plans to expand its operations into other Central Asian countries such as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The Uzbekistan product portfolio includes DAAC System’s own solutions, products from other DAAC digital companies, as well as IT solutions from partners. The company aims to maintain positive momentum and grow sales to local clients (government agencies, banks, and enterprises). To achieve this, it leverages the full potential of the entire DAAC digital group.

DAAC DIGITAL IN ROMANIA

Andrei Bagrin, head of DAAC digital’s Romania office, describes the market in the neighboring country as well-structured and highly competitive. Even so, the expertise of the “parent team” from Moldova plays a decisive role in the company’s success. The full range of services and knowledge accumulated over 30 years of activity is easily replicated in Romania — under significantly more advantageous conditions. “In the meantime, we have extended many of our certifications and now offer the full portfolio of services, identical to Chișinău,” he adds.

Additional benefits are also expected from collaboration between the Romanian and Uzbek teams, particularly through partnerships with residents of Uzbekistan’s IT Park.
