Compliance tells you what needs to be in place. Resilience shows you whether it actually works when you need it to.
That distinction, made by Dan Gavojdea on the first day of DAAC digital Fortinet Day 2026, became the central idea of both days. On September 16 and 17, DAAC digital, together with NetSafe Distribution and Fortinet, ran an event deliberately built around two different formats: a discussion day for managers and engineers, followed by a full day of hands-on practice.
Day 1: technology and the questions behind it
The first day took place at Digital Park in Chișinău. Lucian Nanau opened with Fortinet platform updates, while Nicolae Galusca covered two technical blocks: SD-WAN and SASE, then FortiOS and hardware platform news.
The context piece came from Dan Gavojdea: cyber resilience beyond compliance – risk, supply chain security, the skills gap, and actual response capacity. His second presentation addressed SecOps in practical terms, tracing the path from logs and alerts to detection, investigation, and automated response, with limited resources and a realistic roadmap from proof of concept to a full SOC.
NIS2 requirements and how they translate into concrete measures were also part of the discussion – a topic that in Moldova moves quickly from theory into operations. The final hour was reserved for Q&A and experience sharing among participants.
Day 2: hands on keyboard
Day two moved the event to the DAAC digital competence center. A completely different format: engineers with their laptops in front of them, and a single topic spanning the entire day – “Breaking the Kill Chain with AI-Driven Breach Protection”.
The session, split into two parts, covered network anomaly detection and behavioral file analysis – from how malware actually behaves to interpreting the results of a sandbox analysis. Not presentations about capabilities, but direct hands-on work with the solutions.
The limited number of seats was a choice, not a constraint. A hands-on workshop only works as long as every participant actually gets to work.
Thank you
Thank you to the Fortinet team and our colleagues at NetSafe Distribution for the content, for bringing local specialists, and for being open to discussing uncomfortable topics, not just features.
Thank you to the clients and partners who joined us on both days, and to the colleagues from both companies who made the two days happen.
What’s next
The conversations started at the event continue individually, company by company. If any of the topics above are relevant to your infrastructure, the DAAC digital cybersecurity team is available for a focused discussion: [email protected] or +373 22 509 709.
