The international IT company group DAAC digital has partnered with the 6th Strategic Forum StrategEast 2024 in Chișinău

On September 17-18, 2024, during Moldova Business Week, the 6th StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum took place in Chișinău. The event gathered IT industry leaders, representatives of government bodies, and international organizations who discussed the prospects for the development of the digital economy in Eurasia and Moldova’s role in this process.

Key Points:

1. Moldova - a leader in internet speed and quality

In her opening speech, the CEO of Orange Moldova, Olga Surugiu, emphasized that Moldova ranks among the global leaders in terms of internet connection quality and speed. This creates a strong foundation for the development of digital infrastructure and the integration of AI technology in business.

2. Digitalization of government agencies

Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Dumitru Alaiba, highlighted the rapid pace of digitalization within government agencies. According to him, the IT sector is becoming an important export product for the country, alongside traditional industries like winemaking.

3. Widespread use of AI in business

The keynote speaker of the forum, AI expert Fahed Bizzari, drew attention to the growing role of AI in boosting productivity. He noted that many companies are beginning to require their employees to use AI-based tools, such as ChatGPT, to reduce task completion times. Fahed also highlighted the advantages of using open AI models, which, in his view, are transparent and effective alternatives to proprietary solutions.

4. DAAC digital's experience in Eurasia

DAAC digital was presented as an example of a successful integrator, developing business in Moldova as well as in Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Moldova’s experience in building digital infrastructure for companies—from connecting to cloud platforms to creating data centers for storing AI models—is increasingly sought after in these regions.

5. Orange's example in AI development

Orange Moldova also showcased its success in AI integration by developing its own model, which is used by thousands of employees. This is a clear example of how companies can implement AI in corporate processes, relying on high-quality digital infrastructure.

The forum served as an important platform for discussing key trends and strengthening ties among Eurasian countries, highlighting Moldova’s leading role in the development of IT and the digital economy.
